Our Leadership Team
Barry Hardy
President and CEO
Barry Hardy has been recognized as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable professionals in the field of training and development in the Gulf Coast area. But he came from humble beginnings, growing up in Santa Fe, Texas, where he spent his high school days working on a dairy farm, in hay fields and at a local feed store.
In the 1970s, he left the country life to begin a successful 19-year career with Amoco Chemical Company. While he was there, he was selected to train new operators and found that his passion was in the human side of the business. So in 1993, he started his own company to focus solely on providing workforce development programs to petrochemical and refining companies in the Houston area. As someone who spent the majority of his career in plants and refineries, a big part of his motivation in starting TDS was his desire to provide facilities with the training and tools to operate more safely.
During his career, Barry has served as advisor and consultant to a number of Fortune 100 energy and industry-related companies, as well as to various educational, medical, professional and information technology enterprises.
He is a past-chairman of API’s Gulf Coast District Committee on Training & Development, a national member of ASTD, and a member of the Gulf Coast Process Technology Alliance.
