In an effort to continuously give back to the community that supports us, TDS participates in charitable events throughout the year.
The Lions Club expands its horizons beyond purely business concerns to the betterment of the community and the world at large. TDS participates at the Village Fair Kids' Day in the Park, during which the carnival and grounds are closed to the general public and available only to special-needs children from the local school district. The kids are also treated to a lunch served by TDS volunteers.
All toys donated by employees and attendees are directly donated to charities such as HIS Ministries and Bay Area Turning Point.
S.A.F.E. (Safe, Affirming, Family Environment) is an organization with established S.A.F.E. Spots and S.A.F.E. Houses to help children and young adults achieve employment and independent living. At a recent S.A.F.E. benefit, TDS gave away more than 75 backpacks filled with essentials and had many left over to give to homeless youth.
Our food drive, benefiting Bay Area Turning Point, is held as part of our annual employee meeting. We also hold several other events throughout the year to support the local community.
Our employees individually support the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure each year, which raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
