TDS Partners with Elevance for OperatOR Training

TDS has partnered with Elevance Renewable Sciences to provide operator training material and procedures for the Elevance/Wilmar joint venture in Surabaya, Indonesia.

The project will focus on a facility that is coverting palm oil and bio-olefins into biodiesel using a proprietary process. The unit will be the first commercial plant of its kind in the world, with startup targeted for April of 2012.

The scope of the training section of the project includes targeted Basic Operator Training (BOT), Train-the-Trainer workshops for trainers and unit-specific Operator Qualification training. By creating the basic operator training to be very specific to the facility's equipment, the approach allows for faster application of basic skills to the unit. Procedures include all necessary elements from pre-commissioning through startup and shutdown, as well as emergency procedures.

This marks TDS' first project in Indonesia and its first journey into the biochemical realm, although the company did develop training materials for a biodiesel-only facility located in Galveston, TX.
