Project Manager - Process Technology Houston (Clear Lake) & Beaumont, TX

Position Description
You will be responsible for managing multiple client projects including supervising project team members, monitoring costs, and overseeing the accuracy/quality and timely completion of client deliverables.  You will manage all aspects of the project including budget, costs, gross profit, invoicing, progress reports, etc. on a weekly and monthly basis.  You may assist in collections.

You will also be responsible for developing client proposals, setting up contracts and insurance requirements, and issuing “scope changes” to the client.

You will train and assign staff to projects and communicate specific roles and responsibilities.  You will review and edit training materials your team develops specific to clients in the hydrocarbon processing industry. These materials include operations training manuals, operating and maintenance procedures and other process related training materials.

This position is also responsible for maintaining and building client relations through face to face communications.  You will expand client relationships to develop additional work opportunities.

You will be a member of the management team and will report to the Director of the Process Technology Division.

Work Experience
This position requires at least three years experience as a project manager or team leader for revenue generating projects in the hydrocarbon or like industries.  It also requires at least two years experience developing operating or training materials in the hydrocarbon industry using ISD or similar methodology. At least three years leading teams and supervising personnel is required.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Ability to lead teams and supervise personnel by setting an example with respect to time management, work ethic, personal appearance, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct effective performance management reviews, and coaching to improve performance
  • Proven project management skills
  • Ability to assess and scope projects considering resource requirements, logistics and capabilities
  • Familiarity with reactors, distillation columns, fired heaters, compressors, exchangers, turbines, pumps, boilers and other related equipment
  • A solid understanding of PFDs and P&IDs
  • Proven editing skills for content accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated oral communication skills (succinctly and effectively communicate ideas, questions, and instructions to direct reports, peers and upper management) 

Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Training, Engineering or related field.  Equivalent experience considered.

Physical Demands
Physical demands for the position include lifting and moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds, standing for extended periods of time (4-6 hours), presenting information to groups and traveling to client sites.

Travel
Office based out of Houston, TX.  Minimal travel, which may include occasional multiple night stays, as most clients are in the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast.
