Performance Consultant (contract and full time)

General Description

Work with clients to define and resolve workforce performance challenges and identify opportunities for improvement. Apply appropriate models, methods and techniques to design and implement performance solutions that have measurable impact on business results.

Specific Duties

  • Performance Analysis: Perform analysis at the organization, process and performer level and develop recommendations to client managers to close performance gaps.
  • Solution Development: Execute and/or manage the design, development, implementation and evaluation of performance improvement programs.
  • Training: Assess, design, develop, implement and evaluate leadership training for executives, managers and employees focused on human performance technology, skills, practices and evaluation of appropriate programs as needed.
  • Project Management: Serve as leader of multidisciplinary project teams assembled to conduct performance interventions.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain consultative relationships with client managers. Act as the primary client contact for project development including gathering data and reference materials, managing project status and resolving issues.

Performance consultants should exhibit expertise in an additional 2-3 of the following areas. Senior level performance consultants should exhibit expertise in an additional 3-5 of the following areas, one of which must include sales support:

  • Change management
  • Executive coaching
  • Workforce planning and transition
  • Return on investment analysis
  • Performance management program development
  • Personnel selection
  • Psychometrics
  • Job analysis
  • Sales support (solutions, scoping, pricing)

Prior Work Experience

At least ten years direct experience as an external performance consultant with business clients providing technical and non-technical improvement performance solutions with at least four of those years in the manufacturing industry.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Workforce Development, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Certified Performance Technologist CPT certification a plus.
